Abstract
Through adding 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% of the carbon fiber content to phenol formaldehyde resin and compacting the mixture to a desired shape, the samples were prepared in this paper. The wearability, hardness, electric conductivity and compression strength have been studied. The results show that with the increment of carbon content, the wearability of composites is improved. But the improving degree decreases with the increment of carbon fiber content and tends to be stable finally. The hardness increases little and increases linearly as the fiber content exceeds 10%. The electric conductivity of composites increases greatly as the fiber content exceeds 10%. The tendency of resistance decreasing is not linear with the increment of fiber weight fraction and there is a threshold at about 15%. When the fiber content is lower than 15%, the resistance of composites is very high; When it is higher than 15%, the resistance decreases a lot. This indicates that when the carbon fiber content exceeds 15%, the composite has some certain electric conductivity.
