Residual Stress Analysis of the Annular Chain and Link Used in Mine Equipments After Shot Peening

    • The annular chain and link used in mine equipments was strengthened by surface shot peening technique which SPI was 0.41 and 0.5 A/mm. Residual stress distribution along the transverse direction of the chain and link surface was investigated by X-ray diffraction techniques. Results showed that higher compressive residual stress was induced by shot peening. Fatigue life of the annular chain and link can be improved by inducing compressive residual stress obtained from due surface shot peening technique.
