    FAILURE ANALYSIS AND COUNTERMEASURE OF AIR COOLER IN KETONE-BENZOL UNIT

    • The Air cooler of recycled system of solvent in ketone-benzol unit began to leak more than 5 months after it was put into operation. The analysis of the material composition, X-ray inspection and energy spectrum analysis and metallographic examination etc revealed that the major cause of failure of air cooler was pitting corrosion and erosion. The countermeasures were proposed.
