FRACTURE ANALYSIS ON THE PISTON ROD OF A COMPRESSOR
Failure analysis on a fractured piston rod of a refinery factory is made. The results show that the fracture of the piston rod is fatigue fracture, the reasons are that gross Widmanstatten structure is existed in the microstructure of the piston rod, and the values of hardness and strength are relatively low.
