    Cause Analysis on Crack of one Part of 2Cr13 Steel

    • The cause on crack of one part of 2Cr13 steel was investigated by means of chemical compositions analysis, metallographic examination, scanning electron microscope and energy spectrum analysis, mechanical properties testing and so on. The results showed that the crack on the part of 2Cr13 steel belonged to oxide, caused by the oxide produced incorporated into during the forging process. The suggestion was that pay more attention to clean up the surface oxides by heating and remainder of the oxide in the mold, and strengthen the heat treatment after forging, in order to prevent to produce large internal stress.
