Analysis on Cracking Reason of TC11 Titanium Bar

The cracks in TC11 titanium bar were detected after annealing. In order to find out the cracking reason, macro and micro morphology, microhardness and energy spectrum of the bar were analyzed. The results showed that high content oxygen and carbon gathered in raw materials form in segregation, the bar was cracked in rolling. The cracks found on longitudinal surface of titanium bar after annealing were brought from raw materials.
