By means of optical-microscopy,scanning election microscopy (SEM),and election diffraction spectrometer (EDS) etc.,the crack of gear was analyzed,the reason of the failure is found. The results show that the sulphide inclusions in the materials was the main reasons causing the gear fracture under cyclic stress when stress concentrated on the damnification or surface inclusions. And it′s found that the stress on the jogged gear is great.
