    Corrosion Reason Analysis of Steam Turbine Blades

    • Serious corrosion was found on a lot of steam turbine blades when they were assembled in steam turbine. The main reasons for steam turbine blades getting rusty were analyzed by macro and micro examination, chemical composition analysis, energy spectrum analysis and corrosion experiments under different circumstance and condition. The results showed that the low content of Cr element in blades, a lot of oxidant and the activity ion (Cl-) adhered to blade, as well as long-term storage in the humidity higher than 60% of the environment were the main reasons of blade getting rusty. Finally, the suggestions to save them from corrosion were put forward.
