Effect of Hollow Ceramic Microspheres on Mechanical Properties of Epoxy Foams

    • Epoxy foams filled with hollow ceramic microspheres were prepared. Testing were performed on tensile and compressive mechanical properties, Young′s modulus and Poisson′s ratio were calculated, variety currents of parameters with different microsphere volume fractions were researched. The results showed that the tensile strength, tensile fracture strain, compressive strength, Poisson′s ratio decreased, but Young′s modulus increased with the increase of volume fractions of hollow ceramic microsphere. The adhesive strength between microspheres and matrix was small.
