Application of Excel in Rounding off of Numerical Values for Metallic Materials Tensile Testing at Ambient Temperature

    • Two rounding off methods of numerical values for metallic materials tensile testing at ambient temperature using Excel user defined functions were introduced according to the rounding off rules of GB/T 8170-2008. That is first creating 1 interval rounding off user defined function through the Visual Basic editor in Excel to achieve 1 interval rounding off, and then according to 0.5 interval rounding off rules to achieve 0.05, 0.5, 5 and 10 intervals rounding off using the having created 1 interval rounding off user defined function. Or creating 0.05, 0.5, 1, 5 and 10 intervals rounding off user defined functions directly through the Visual Basic editor in Excel to achieve different intervals rounding off. The results show that both these two methods can round off of the tensile testing numerical values at ambient temperature with 0.05, 0.5, 1, 5 and 10 intervals rapidly and easily, and they can be used for rounding off of the numerical values for other testing.
