    Mechanical Property and Microstructure of Epoxy Foam Material

    • Epoxy foam samples were prepared by hollow microsphere method and chemical foaming method.Mechanical properties of samples with different porosity were analyzed by performance test, and microstructure was analyzed by SEM.The results showed that: in the case of the same porosity, samples prepared by two kinds of method showed similar tensile strength, and samples prepared by chemical foaming method showed lower compress strength;Young′s modulus was increased with the increasing of hollow microsphere content, and decreased with the increasing of bubble content;Poisson′s ratio was decreased with the increasing of porosity;microspheres aggregation existed when hollow microsphere content was high enough;the structure of bubbles in materials was regular circular closed cell, and the cell size was not uniform.
