Analysis on Sinter Mineralogical Using Metallographic Microscope

To supplement blank of sinter mineralogical analysis for ironmaking blast furnace in Laiwu iron and steel group corporation and to reduce investment, the transformation was made for the existing large metallographic microscope, for example instead of the strong high-pressure xenon lamp brightness, removing the filter, using the diaphragm with the maximum number, adding the color compensation in polarizer, purchasing the special lenses and so on.Based on the principle of the different color or grayscale under polarized light, and combined the color image analyzer, a quantitative measurement system was established, and the measurement software was prepared.The recognition accuracy for sinter mineralogical was high and the test was fast, the mineral phase microscopy could be replaced by the quantitative analysis method for sinter phase to guide the sintering process.
