Influence of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Property of Welded Joint of 12Cr1MoV Steel Pipe

  • The effect of post-weld-heat-treatment (PWHT) on microstructure and property of 12Cr1MoV steel pipe joint welded by TIG welding was studied by microstructure observation and mechanical property examination. The results showed that all the specimens were eligible after face bending for 180°, but tiny crack occurred during root bending test in the as-welded joints, no crack observed after PWHT; the tensile strength of the joint was improved after PWHT. PWHT eliminated the hardened microstructure, the plasticity and strength were therefore elevated.
