Abstract
For better understanding the new tensile test national standard by the staff in quality inspection departments, metallurgical enterprises and related departments, the major differences between the new and old national standards of metallic materials tensile test at room temperature (GB/T 228.1-2010 and GB/T 228-2002), such as the requirements before test, the data sampling frequency of tensile testing machine, surface roughness of samples, methods for measuring original cross-sectional area of samples, calculation and rounding off for original gauge length of proportional test samples, test rate and control methods, criterion of upper and lower yield strength, rounding off for numerical values and so on, were comparatively analyzed. Especially, parts of the revised contents in the new standard were discussed for practical application.
