Numerical Calculation of Diffusion Coefficient of Mo Element Diffusing into Ti6Al4V Alloy in Double Glow Surface Alloying

Abstract
A Numerical method for calculating diffusion coefficient of Mo element diffusing into Ti6Al4V alloy in double glow surface alloying was studied, especially for the typical Mo modified layer consisting of a deposition layer and a diffusion layer. The results show that this numerical calculation method could reveal effectively the diffusion behavior of Mo element into Ti6Al4V alloy. The diffusion coefficient of Mo element was low in the high Mo density region and high in the low Mo density region. The processing method of deposition layer influenced remarkably on the final calculating results of the diffusion coefficient of Mo element.
