    Analysis on Large Inclusions in 06Cr19Ni10 Stainless Steel

    • By analyzing the morphology and chemical compositions of large inclusions in 06Cr19Ni10 stainless steel continuous casting billet, formation reasons for the large inclusions were found and preventive measures were given. The results show that the main chemical compositions of the inclusions in 06Cr19Ni10 stainless steel were CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO. The inclusions were slag of too late up-floating in smelting and entered molten steel during continuous casting process. At the same times, oxides on the crystallizer were dashed into the crystallizer by the liquid steel and entered the continuous casting billet during continuous casting process, which also possibly resulted in the formation of large inclusions.
