STUDY ON THE PHOTO-CATALYTIC DEGRADATION OF METHYL ORANGE BY USING TITANIA COATED FIBER GLASS CLOTH

  • Using dipping method,titania photo-catalyst coated fiber glass cloth was prepared,and the coated layer was observed by SEM. The photo-catalytic degradation of methyl orange by using the titania coated fiber glass cloth was studied with an ultraviolet high pressure mercury lamp light source. The effects of number of dipping operation and pH value of solution on the photo-degradation were investigated. The results showed that the optimum TiO2 catalyst coating was obtained by dipping six times under our experimental conditions,and better degradation effect was achieved in acid condition.
