Influence of Annealing Technology on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of H62 Brass

    • Annealing technology experiment was done to H62 brass with different heating temperatures and cooling methods, and microstructure and mechanical properties were studied after annealing. The results show that microstructure of H62 brass was all α+β phase if it was cooled directly in the air after annealing at temperatures in the range of 600~750 ℃, and tensile strength of it was all higher than the technical requirement. And with the rising of annealing temperature, β phase content in the microstructure, hardness and tensile strength of H62 brass all increased gradually. Simple and uniform α phase microstructure of H62 brass could be obtained by first slowly cooling to 500 ℃ in the furnace after annealing at 650 ℃, and then cooling in air. Its hardness and tensile strength were all low, and the tensile strength met with the technical requirement.
