Abstract
High-entropy alloys (HE alloys) with multi-principal elements are a kind of new alloys with over five principal elements. The CuxAlFeNiCrTi(x=1 and 0.5) high-entropy alloys were prepared by vacuum arc-melting furnace. The characteristics including microstructure, hardness, corrosion resistance and so on were examined by metalloscope, XRD, SEM, TEM and Vickers hardness tester. The results showed that, HE alloys exhibited simple microstructure and their hardness were higher than 800 HV. Corrosion experiment showed that HE alloys behave better in alkaline solution than acid solution. With the decreasing Cu content, the composition of the alloy system changed from FCC phase and BCC phase to a single BCC phase, the hardness and corrosion resistance of the alloys increased also.
