Reason Analysis on Speckle Segregation of EA4T Railway Locomotive Axles Steel

The reason of speckle segregation in EA4Trailway locomotive axles steel was analyzed by means ofmacroscopic examination,chemical composition analysis,metallographic examination,process analysis and furnacenumber statistios,etc.The results showed that the speckle segregation was the alloy composition positivesegregation,and the main reason was the improper smelting parameters including material granularity,temperatureand taper of ingot moulds and molten steel superheat.
