    Reasons Analysis on Fracture of SSC Resistant Tubing

    • Fracture reason analysis was conducted to a SSC resistant tubing by means of chemical compositions analysis, fracture analysis, metallographic examination and scanning electron microscopy analysis. The results show that local corrosion in H2S environment occured on the pipe body, which made microcracks initiate and propagate, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC)take palce eventually. The corrosion experiments simulated the oil country medium were done in the lab, and suggestion of choosing appropriate material is proposed finally.
