FAILURE ANALYSIS OF EQ-153 TRUCK REAR AXLE GEAR

The failure reason on the broken teeth of gear was analyzed by metallographic examination,SEM and EDS technology. It was found that there existed serious problem of metallurgical quality in the material of failure gear,such as much non-metallic inclusion which led bending fatigue strength of the gear material reduced,eventually led to earlier fatigue fracture. Meanwhile,the measures to avoid producing earier failure were put forward.
