    Trailing Phenomenon Analysis and Deviation Estimating on Vickers Hardness Testing

    • In view of the trailing phenomenon during pipeline steel Vickers hardness testing, the causes and types of trailing phenomenon were analyzed, and the deviation estimating formula for considering the effect of trailing phenomenon were obtained by mathematical derivation. The numerical range of hardness testing deviation caused by trailing phenomenon of X70 pipeline steel was calculated. Finally, suggestions to prevent trailing phenomenon and evaluate trailing indentation in daily Vickers hardness testing were put forward.
