FAILURE ANALYSIS OF THE ROLL

By means of chemical composition analysis,metallograph examination and hardness test,failure analysis of the roll was conducted. The result showed that,the main failure reason of roll was that the content of Si was too high. At the same time,abnormal nodulizing,increases with content of ferrite,decrease with content of ladeburite carbide or unevenly distributed in the microscopic structure of work layer,all these factors caused the roll fracture finally.
