Cracking Analysis of Die Casting Mould of SKD61 Steel

The cracking causes of the die casting mould of SKD61 steel were analyzed by chemical composition analysis,mechanical property testing,microstructure examination and fracture analysis. The results showed that the lower contents of molybdenum and vanadium in the mould material resulted in the lower hardness after heat treatment,then resulted in the lower fatigue strength was the main reason causing the mould fatigue fracture.
