    Method of Distinguishing Massive Ferrite near Fusion Line of Dissimilar Steel Welded Joints by Color Metallography

    • It was found that there was massive microstructure precipitating near the fusion line at T92 steel side when conventional metallographic examination on the domestic and overseas T92-S30432 dissimilar steel welded joints. Compound color metallography microstructure displaying method combined with method of micro-hardness test and energy spectrum analysis were used to distinguish the massive microstructure qualitatively. The results show that the contrast and definition of the microstructure displayed by this color metallography method were both high, and could make up for the deficiency of the conventional black and white metallography method. By the color metallography method it could effectively distinguish that the massive microstructure was ferrite phase.
