  • By means of chemical composition analysis and metallographic examination, the reason of the cracks in rocker arm of engine valve during magnetic testing was analyzed. The results showed that the crack was hot tear during casting process. Changing the radius of transmission area of mould and reducing the size of ingate can prevent the recurrence of hot tear.
