Fracture Reason Analysis of Straightening Rolls

By means of fracture analysis,chemical composition analysis, mechanical properties testing, hardness inspection and metallographic examination, the fracture reason of straightening rolls was analyzed. The results indicated that the fracture was on the inter section of build-up welding and non-build-up welding with nontechnological requirements. Large welding thermal stress and structural stress (tensile stress) existed, which caused the fracture of straightening rolls.
