    • It is summarized in this paper the initiation of transvers carcks on continuous casting billet angles and its relative factors. Normally the longitudinal cracks were caused by transvers cracks on the angles. The study showed that the transvers cracks were caused by large prior-austenite grains (diameter >1mm) formation at about in 1 300℃. The quantity evaluation formula is also introduced in this paper.
