Abstract
The new type austenitic stainless steel material such as SUP304H and HR3C were used on the first 1 000 MW ultra supercritical unit (USU). An inspection had been done to the oxide on the wall inside the type austenitic stainless steel tubes after operation 10 000 h. The inspection indicated that the oxide deposited on few areas. Further inspections and analysis indicated that the oxide was a mixture of little metal particles and metal oxide occurred during installation and maintenance. So the new type austenitic stainless steel material has good properties in steam-oxidation resistance.
