Identification of Micro Morphology of Plant Leaves Based on Stomatal Apparatus Characteristics

  • Environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) was used for micro morphology analysis on various kinds of plant leaves, and southern magnolia was taken as an example for stomatal apparatus features numerical stability analysis. The numerical dispersion degree of longitudinal diameter, transversal diameter, longitudinal/transversal ratio and aperture of the stomatal apparatus of different plant leaves was analyzed statistically. The results show that the distribution, density and morphology characteristics of the stomatal apparatus for a certain plant leaf were stable. The numerical dispersion degree of longitudinal diameter, transversal diameter, longitudinal/transversal ratio and aperture was low, and different kinds of plants’ stomatal apparatus had different characteristics. So it was thought that the micro morphology analysis method based on stomatal apparatus was applicable for forensic science.
