Several Common Methods for Measuring the Depth of Decarburization

    • Test principle, application scope and matters needing attention of several common methods for measuring the depth of decarburization were introduced, such as microscopical method, hardness method, carbon content measurement method. And the advantages and disadvantages of each method were compared. The results showed that there were limitations by each method used for measuring, the method should be selected on the basis of samples or customer requirements, and microscopical method and microindentation hardness method were the most widely used methods of those methods.
