Tensile Test Rate and Its Control in Standard GB/T 228.1-2010

The regular impact of tensile test rate on yield performance during tensile test process was introduced. The regulation theory concerned to tensile test rate in all China’s previous tensile test standards (GB/T 228) all took strain rate as the standard, but the equivalent stress rate was used as the standard in actual operation. In the new standard GB/T 228.1-2010, the method of strain rate as the standard was achieved from regulation theory to actual operation. The tensile test rate control method, as well as the relationship of rate control with test equipment were also discussed.
