The oil-suck-rod broken after using only one month in some oil field. The chemical composition,corrosion products,macro and micro-fractograph,metallographic structure and crude oil were analysed. The results showed that the heavy banded structure led to corrosion fatigue fracture in the alkaline medium and working stress.
