  • The effect of vacuum high pressure gas quenching on the microstructure and mechanical properties was studied in 2Cr13 steel.The experimental results showed that with pressure increased,the strength and the hardness increased,the elongation and the toughness were lower lightly,and reduction of area and harden ability were changed little. After high pressure gas quenching ,the microstructure of the sample was uniformly fine batten-shaped quenched martensite,the mechanical properties and the harden ability met standard requirement. Furthermore,the surface of the sample was much clean,the silvery-bright,may remove the cleansing.Therefore,current vacuum oil quenching process may be replaced.
