    STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF CHARPY IMPACT ENERGY

    • The impact test results, even though average values, usually wouldn′t reflect the true impact resistance of the test steels correctly due to the large scatter. The impact energy Ak values of TL and LT orientation specimens of low alloy steel have been analyzed with statistical method for more reliable assessment. It′s shown that Ak values of TL and LT orientation specimens both follow the normal distribution, and their safe impact energies refer to reliability as 0.9 are 62.7J and 72.6J, respectively.
