THE EFFECT OF THE AMOUNT OF SOLUBLE ALUMINUM ON WHEEL PROPERTIES

    • We think the process of decreasing the amount of Al added during wheel steel melting may help to avoid subsurface fatigue damage which is caused by large Al2O3 inclusions, but decreasing the amount of Al will reduce the content of Als, it is studied by contrasting experiment of wheel austenitic grain and the statistics of finished wheel properties to see the reducing of Als can affect the performance of finished wheel obviously. The results show that the reducing content of Als to below 0.010% will not change the austenitic grain and properties of wheels obviously under the present heat treatment process, the process of decreasing the amount of Al is deserved to popularize.
