    Influence of Surface Roughness and Substrate-effect on Nanoindentation Results for Organic Coatings

    • The study aimed to demonstrate the effect of roughness and substrate on nanoindentation results of organic coating. Nanoindentation and single profile tests were performed on three coatings with the same thickness,the same substrate and the different paint. The data showed that the results of nanoindentation were influenced by the substrate,and different coatings exhibit substrate-effect in different depth of coatings;for the same coating,the lower surface roughness of coatings,the lower nano-hardness values of coatings,and the repeatability of nano-hardness curve had been improved.
