THE SURFACE CRACK ANALYSIS ON THE Cr12 STAINLESS STEEL PARTS

The quenching cracks were analyzed which always occured the surface of the parts of the Cr12 type stainless steels by macrostructure and microstructure test,and chemical composition analysis. From the common characteristics of these parts in manufacturing process,surface cracks form,the mode of the extending,and using simulated test,the mechanism of cracks propagation are dissected. Hereon,the primary flow of the failure analysis process can be set up for the Cr12 type stainless steels after heat treatment.
