Application of 3D Measuring Laser Microscope in Microstructure Research for Composite Rolls

    • The microstructure of composite rolls was studied by 3D measuring laser microscope OLS4000, and compared the image with traditional microscope DM IRM. The results showed that the OLS4000 has been used to assess and measure a wide variety of material surfaces and artifacts from the nano up to the macro scale. The OLS4000 is a confocal laser scanning microscope which has helped in the assessment of material surfaces, as it provides 3D images and has measurement capability. It with greater accuracy than an optical microscope. Measurements made using the OLS4000 are easier and produce a more accurate value due to the high lateral resolution of the microscope. Together with other metallographic technology in using process, it can be used as an advanced technology of scientific observation and analysis for the depth tissue morphology of composite rolls.
