    Corrosion Analysis on Waveguide-coaxial Transition Components

    • Serious corrosion was found on a lot of waveguide-coaxial transition components when they were assembled, which were covered by nickel aurum coating. The main reasons for corrosion were analyzed by means of SEM observation and coating thickness testing. The results showed that thin aurum coating with micropores led to poor protection. Binder used in components′ package boxes consisted of chlorine, and the binder′s decomposition resulted in components′ corrosion.
