    Analysis on Corrosion Resistance of Bronze Mirror in the Han Dynasty

    • Metallographic examination, SEM and energy spectrum analysis, microhardness testing and corrosion test were employed to analyze the compositions and structures of three bronze pieces in the Han dynasty to study the corrosion resistance of bronze mirrors in the Han dynasty. The results showed the SnO2 oxidation film on the surface of bronze mirrors could protect copper alloy matrix for further oxidation corrosion. Besides, the corrosion resistance of bronze mirrors was related to the ancient heat treatment technology.
