    Fracture Analysis of Spherical Plain Bearings of 06Cr19Ni10 Stainless Steel

    • Stainless steel spherical plain bearings made from 06Cr19Ni10were fractured after using severalyears in high voltage electric apparatus product.Fracture reason was analyzed by means of chemical compositionanalysis, metallographic examination, fracture scanning, energy spectrum analysis and intercrystalline corrosiontest.It was found that the stainless steel spherical plain bearings working in a Cl--ions containing coastalatmospheric environment and engendered stress corrosion was the major reason.Casting flaw, carbon contentexceed bid, poor solution treatment, rough surface processing were important influence factors of stress corrosionfracture.
