Abstract
A high temperature superheated pipe of 12Cr1MoV steel bursted after using for two years in a power plant. The burst reason was analyzed by means of macroscopic and microscopic examination. The results indicated that because of pipe wall perforation, the steam and water cycle was stumbled, the pipe had been operated under local overtemperature, which caused high temperature local corrosion and peralite spheroidization, many transverse fissures generated and the two longitudinal divisions was produced in the same radial direction.
