Abstract
Using method of first chemical etching and then electrolytic corrosion, microstructure of sintered WTi alloy blank could be displayed clearly. And then microstructure of the sintered alloy blank was analyzed by means of quantitative metallographic analysis, scanning electron microscopy and energy diffraction spectrum analysis, and X-ray diffraction analysis to study its phase compositions. The results show that microstructure of the sintered W5Ti alloy blank mainly consists of equiaxed β2 phase and 9% (volume fraction) pure tungsten phase and 8% eutectoid body of α-Ti and β2 phase. The grain number of β2 phase is about 45 000 /mm2 and the grain size of the pure tungsten phase which distributes in the equiaxed β2 grain is about 2.65 μm.
