Influence of Sample Placement Modes on Salt Spray Test Results of Zn-10%Al Coated Gabion Mesh Wires

    • The effect of sample placement modes on the corrosion behavior of Zn-10%Al coated gabion mesh wires during salt spray test was studied, and the corrosion process and corrosion feature of gabion mesh wires in 1 000 h neutral salt spray test were analyzed. The results show that the salt spray corrosion process of gabion mesh wires could be divided into initial, decelerating corrosion and accelerating corrosion three stages. The final corrosion morphology was sample surface turning black accompanied by producing white rusts. It was found that in gabion mesh wires salt spray test, vertical hanging sample placement mode was easier to get well-distributed corrosion surface and it was a more suitable sample placement mode.
