    FAILURE ANALYSIS OF CONTAINER ROTATING LOCK AXLE

    • Casting steel container rotating lock axle rod-head fracture in machining screw. Analysis was performed on the fracture by macroscopical, microscopical and chemical analysis methods.Failure is confirmed was caused by content higher carbon failure ,primare pipe, zone-segregation and eutectic ledeburit in lastly solidification. Working procedure causes were found out, poured short in sprue downgate and higher pour temperature is primary reason after investigating casting process in pouring house.
