    Fracture Reason Analysis of H13 Steel Punch

    • The macroscopic examination, fracture analysis, EDS linear scan, chemical composition analysis, metallographic examination and hardness test were carried out to analyzed the fracture reason of H13 steel punch. The results showed that, as the angle radius at the root of flange where connected with the stationary core rod was minor, so the stress concentration factor higher, and metallography organization of punch material was segregation seriously, which caused crack initiation then propagated quickly, and brought about the early fracture failure to the punch eventually. Finally, the prevention methods and suggestions were put forward.
