Applications of Small Angle X-ray Scattering Technique in the Material Study

    • Small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) is an effective method in the analysis of materials microstructure. The theory of small angle X-ray scattering was introduced and its applications in the study of material science were reviewed such as the measurement of nanoparticle size, vacancy density and precipitates size in the alloy, precipitates size from the amorphous alloy crystallization, measurement of shape, size and size distribution of particles in polymer materials as well as measurement of lamellae orientation, thickness, crystalline percentage, amorphous layer thickness in long-period polymer system and so on.
