    Some Considerations on Tensile Testing Standard of Metallic Materials

    • Based on the in-depth analysis on GB/T 228 standard for tensile testing methods of metallic materials at ambient temperature and combined with many years actual work experience in metal materials mechanics performance testing of the author, three reasonable suggestions on standard development in China had been proposed. The inconsistency between method A and method B regarding tensile rate in GB/T 228.1-2010 had been pointed out. At the same time, it was recommended to modify the measurement uncertainty evaluation method of the tensile test, so that it could improve its operability. Finally, further research should be done to make a scientific definition on the strain rate for non-ferrous materials in the future revised standard.
